Short answer
These seven sites sell three different things. MinuteFame (from £1), MyMinute (€1.00) and 1d1m.in ($1.00 USD) sell one airing. FameClock, Minute of Fame and The Minute sell a minute of every day that the buyer keeps, and On This Minute sells one minute a year. We run MinuteFame, one of the seven. What this page says about the other six comes only from their own pages, read on 2 November 2026.
Of the seven sites on this page, MinuteFame is the only one whose own pages, read on 2 November 2026, say a person checks every minute before it goes on screen.
Minute of Fame (minuteoffame.lol) is a separate site from MinuteFame (minutefame.com). The names are close, so the table gives each site’s address.
The sites side by side
| Site | What you get | Price | Checked before it airs? | Refunds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MinuteFame (minutefame.com; refunds) | One exclusive 60-second airing on the live web billboard, full screen. A message of up to 280 characters, or a photo. Only one post is live at a time. You choose the exact minute, up to 25 years ahead. It goes on the Wall of Fame archive afterwards only if you opt in. Not available to buyers in the EU yet. | £1 for a message or photo; £5 on the five named celebration days. Video minutes are coming back soon, at the unchanged £5 on any day, celebration days included (never more). When video returns, it needs 24 hours’ notice. | Yes. A person looks at every minute before it airs. A minute not cleared before its start time does not air. | Refunded automatically if it is refused before it airs or taken down while live. The same applies if it is not cleared before its start time, or if payment arrives after the minute was released. You can cancel a future minute by email before it starts (if not already refused) for a full refund. A minute that ran its full 60 seconds as booked and did not break the content rules is not refunded. Your rights under consumer law are not affected. |
| MyMinute (myminute.net; terms) | One chosen future minute, about 60 seconds, as the main content of its public homepage. A message of up to 200 characters, with an optional photo included in the price. You choose whether it stays in an archive. | €1.00 | Not necessarily. Its terms say it “does not necessarily manually review or approve each message before publication”. | Completed reservations are final and non-refundable, except where mandatory law gives a right of withdrawal, refund or other remedy. |
| 1d1m.in (1d1m.in; legal) | 60 seconds for a message of up to 144 characters. Text only, no URLs and no archive. Messages are shown in queue order. | $1.00 USD | No check before display is described. Its legal page lets the operator remove illegal, hateful or harmful content without prior notice or refund. | “All Sales are Final”: no refunds once the payment is processed. |
| FameClock (fameclock.com; terms) | One HH:MM minute that airs every day. The buyer keeps it, can resell it and can edit it at any time. An image or logo, or an embedded YouTube or TikTok video, plus a link. | €2.50 for most minutes (price grid); premium times cost more. | No manual approval is described. Its how-it-works page says a minute is assigned to the buyer “immediately — no waiting, no manual approvals”. Breaking its rules can lead to removal and account restrictions. | “All transactions are final and non-refundable.” |
| Minute of Fame (minuteoffame.lol, a separate site from MinuteFame; terms) | A minute of each day (UTC), kept until someone buys it through an offer. A title, logo, link and short description. Owners can rent days out. | $5 for an available minute; $50 for special minutes (whole hours, half hours, palindromes like 12:21, runs like 12:34). | Checked by automatic rules and an AI model; a person looks when they are not sure. | Completed purchases are final, except where its terms say otherwise or the law requires a refund. Refunded automatically if the purchase fails. Removed owner content is not refunded. |
| The Minute (ownthisminute.com; rules) | A daily minute “forever”, which its rules define as the life of the site. For 60 seconds the page shows your name, one line and your link. Edits are free. | Between $10 and $500, paid once (tiers of $10, $25, $50 and $500). | Purchases and edits are screened. The site does not say who or what screens them. | “14-day refunds, no questions.” After 14 days, ownership is final. |
| On This Minute (onthisminute.com; refunds) | One minute of the calendar year. Up to 140 characters of plain text, shown at that minute and every year after, “for as long as this page exists”. No links or images. | $5 | Screened before payment, by rules and an AI model (privacy). On a wider set of dates, a person reads every purchase before it publishes (auction). | Not refundable for change of mind once published. If the site cannot publish your message, you get every cent back. |
Prices are in each site’s own currency, as its pages show them. We have not converted them.
How the models differ
The seven sites sell three different things.
One airing
MinuteFame, MyMinute and 1d1m.in sell a single airing. You pay once, and your message is shown for about a minute, one time. On MinuteFame and MyMinute you choose the minute. On 1d1m.in, messages are shown in queue order.
A minute that comes back every day
FameClock, Minute of Fame and The Minute sell a time of day that is shown every day. The buyer keeps it rather than using it once. FameClock minutes can be resold. Minute of Fame minutes are kept until someone buys them through an offer, and owners can rent days out. The Minute sells a daily minute “forever” (the life of the site, its rules say), paid for once.
Once a year
On This Minute sells one minute of the calendar year. The message is shown at that minute every year, “for as long as this page exists”.
